Mary Akeju, LPC, ACS, is a highly experienced Licensed Professional Therapist with over 20 years of expertise in providing counseling to clients in various settings, including outpatient, in-office, and in-community environments such as homes, juvenile detention centers, and schools. As an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), she offers supervision, guidance, and support to clinical staff. Mary has over ten years of experience as an Intensive In-Community (IIC) therapist, focusing on high-intensity services for children and families. She holds a degree in Clinical Psychology and Counseling and is skilled in treating complex trauma, anxiety, relationship issues, and other psychological and behavioral challenges.
Mary specializes in individual therapy for both youths and adults, couples therapy, and family therapy. She is trained in a variety of techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), ARC GROW, Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC), Nurtured Heart Approach (NHA), and Reality Therapy. Recently, she has expanded her expertise to include Birth to Five Clinical Practice (B2F), Child-Parent Psychotherapy, and Adlerian Play Therapy, all focused on infant and early childhood mental health.
Mary’s journey in counseling began with a personal whisper from God at the age of 12. She collaborates with her clients to allow God to teach and reveal His mighty power, prioritizing emotional and physical wellness. Mary integrates teachings from Scripture, outlining God’s strategy for transforming each individual.
I am a dedicated and compassionate youth advocate with years of experience as a Behavioral Assistant supporting individuals of all ages. Known for my warm personality, patience and sociable nature, I foster positive relationships that promote growth and well-being. With a passion for empowering young minds, I provide guidance and support tailored to each child’s unique needs. Through my work, I strive to create a safe, encouraging environment that allows youth to thrive and reach their full potential.
Joe Williams has over 25 years of experience as an In-home, In-school, and community therapist in PA and NJ. He has a private practice and plans to expand virtually to about 25 more states. He is fundamentally a CBT therapist who trained at the Beck Institute. Joe is also a DBT therapist who trained at Behavioral Tech. He is a group therapist who is working on certification with the American Group Psychotherapy Association. He completed EMDR training at the EMDR Institute. Joe is a Cognitive Processing Therapist and a Prolonged Exposure therapist. He is pursuing an RPT (registered play therapy) credential. Joe has trained in MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) at Penn and plans to study art therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy at Brown, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Interpersonal Neurobiology. He is a TF CBT therapist and an ARC Grow therapist. Joe is studying early childhood development at Montclair State University.
I’m a hard-working, driven individual who isn’t afraid to face challenge, dedicated and compassionate about her work. I have years of experience working as a Behavioral Assistant, supporting individuals of all ages with diverse behavioral needs. I gather and analyze information to make sure the youth’s needs are being met. I provide Therapeutic and Rehabilitative activities to improve function and independence, so they can lead a full productive life. I’m a self- motivated person who provides guidance and support to empower young minds. I’m an optimistic person who enjoys helping other pursue their goals. I love spending time with family and friends. I love dancing going for long walks and visiting other countries.
